On Women’s Day, Smt. Kashmira Trivedi envisioned making this day exceptionally memorable for women in the field of art. Thus, she conceived a unique festival known as “KANKU UTSAV 2023,” a heartfelt tribute to Kashmira’s grandmother. “Kanku” is a Gujarati word that translates to “kumkum.” It symbolizes the pride, indomitable spirit, fierce boldness, and strength embodied by women in the world of art.
During this extraordinary festival, we had the privilege of felicitating recipients of the prestigious Bismilla Khan Yuva Purskar and Maharashtra Shasan Purskar with the esteemed NRTU SANMAN award. These artists have demonstrated unwavering dedication and made immense contributions to the realm of classical art. Despite the challenges they faced, they emerged as resilient and steadfast individuals, embodying the very essence of soulful artistry.
Additionally, our revered Gurus and teachers were honored with the prestigious SHAILUSHI PURSKAR for their invaluable contributions to the classical art form. Their boundless and unconditional efforts have led to their enduring legacy and a distinguished position in this field.
This grand event was graced by the presence of numerous renowned dignitaries, who generously spared their valuable time from their busy schedules to be part of this celebration. The festival was a beautiful amalgamation of art, culture, and recognition, highlighting the exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication of individuals in the classical art domain.
