takshashila nrityakala mandir, guided by the visionary leadership of Smt. Kashmira Trivedi, stands as a beacon in the organization of cultural festivals that exalt the quintessence of Indian art and heritage. These festivals not only serve as vibrant platforms for honoring and promoting classical art forms but also unite communities through the spirit of cultural celebration.
Among our distinguished festivals, “Kanku Utsav” holds a special place. Launched to mark Women’s Day, this unique festival is named after Kashmira’s grandmother. “Kanku,” signifying kumkum, represents the pride, boldness, and strength that women embody in the world of art. During this festival, we extend our gratitude and recognition to exceptional artists, awardees, and gurus, celebrating their remarkable contributions to classical art. It’s a day when we pay homage to the enduring spirit of female artists and their unwavering dedication.
Another cherished festival in our repertoire is “Tarang Utsav.” This celebration of classical performing arts provides a stage for emerging artists to showcase their exceptional talents and connect with a broader audience. Here, young dancers are adorned with the prestigious title of “Tarang Padama,” while gifted musicians are lauded as “Tarang Sur-Tala Mani.”
As time has progressed, our institute expanded “Tarang Utsav” to include a dedicated dance festival. In 2017, “Tarang Ratna” was introduced, primarily focusing on experienced Gurus, teachers, and senior performers. This festival serves as a platform to celebrate the enduring artistry of those who have devoted their lives to the world of classical art.
Through these festivals, we aspire not only to preserve and honor our cultural heritage but also to provide a vibrant stage for the next generation of artists to shine and carry forward the legacy of classical art in India. Each festival is a testament to the enduring spirit of art and culture that unites us all.
