Shivarpanam

Shivarpanam
Shivarpanam is a Bharatanatyam ballet that explores the many dimensions of Lord Shiva — the auspicious one, the great ascetic, the compassionate protector, the destroyer of evil, and the cosmic force of creation and transformation.
The production opens with Melaprapti and Tridev Shloka, establishing the sacred atmosphere, followed by the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra presented through Allaripu — a devotional invocation seeking victory over death and offering reverence to both the divine and the audience.
The journey then unfolds through the Shiva Panchakshara Stotra, exploring the sacred five syllables Na-Ma-Si-Va-Ya and their association with the five fundamental elements — Prithvi (Earth), Jala (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air), and Akasha (Space).
The production moves into Ardhanarishvara, portraying the profound union of Shiva and Shakti — the masculine and feminine principles of the universe. This synthesis represents the inseparability of these energies and the source of all creation.
The energy of Shiva continues to build through the Tillana, culminating in an energetic Mridangam and Dance Jugalbandi that celebrates rhythm, movement, and the dynamic cosmic energy of Nataraja.
